As a school principal, I have had the distinguished honor of working with an incredible team of talented teachers that have exuberant energy and have profoundly transformed learning for our school community. Â In order to transform learning, we aligned our beliefs, our actions and our language. Â The idea is simple but requires shifting our paradigm from one of controlling students to releasing control through the gradual release of responsibility method. We know teaching is all about relationships and the quality of relationships within the classroom matter! Â Children learn best in schools where they are mentored, valued, and learn to see their incredible potential each day. We follow this with incredible teaching where critical friends collaborate to reach every student’s needs.
